Boarding Services

Short-To-Long-Term Boarding facilities for your rabbits when you are on holiday or life commitments mean you need a bit of help.

Any Stay Away From Home Should Respect Rabbit Welfare Needs

Our Vision For High Quality Affordable Boarding Services

We want rabbit boarding to be high quality, welfare focused, and within reach for ordinary families.

What we aim to deliver:

  • High welfare first.
Every decision prioritises comfort, safety, health, and low-stress handling.
  • Proper space standards.
Our boarding spaces are designed to meet or exceed RWAF space guidance, with layouts that support normal rabbit behaviour, movement, rest, and enrichment.
  • Rabbit expertise built in.
We bring years of hands-on rescue and welfare experience, so you get boarding that understands rabbits, not just pet care.
  • Fair pricing.
We want a service that keeps good welfare accessible, without cutting corners.

Where we are right now

This is our direction of travel. We do not yet have the premises needed to deliver our full boarding vision at the scale we want.

We are actively building funding to move into a larger facility that can support purpose-built boarding environments, better separation of spaces, and the wider welfare services we want to offer.

Limited boarding available in the meantime

Until we secure appropriate premises to offer full boarding services, we can sometimes offer limited boarding using our existing Bonding Services facilities.

  • These spaces meet RWAF standards.
  • Boarding is only available when the facilities are not required for booked bonding stays.
  • Availability can be short notice, and dates may be limited.
  • Demand can change quickly, so we cannot guarantee long-range availability.

If you need boarding soon:

You can book online via our booking portal, which can advise of any last minute availability that can be used for boarding.

Alternatively, you can contact us with your dates, and we will confirm whether we can accommodate you and what the setup will look like for your rabbit’s stay.

Why Boarding A Single Rabbit Costs More Than A Bonded Pair

Rabbits are social animals. Most rabbits cope best when they have rabbit company. A bonded pair can eat, rest, explore, and settle together. That shared companionship matters, especially in a boarding setting.

A single rabbit does not have that built-in support. To keep welfare standards high, we have to provide more human time and attention.

What extra care looks like for single rabbits

  • More frequent check-ins to monitor mood, appetite, toileting, and stress levels
  • Extra interaction time to provide company, reassurance, and gentle engagement
  • More enrichment refreshes to reduce boredom and support normal behaviour
  • Closer observation to spot early signs of loneliness or anxiety
  • More time spent keeping routines consistent, since routine has a bigger impact when a rabbit is alone

How that affects pricing

Our pricing reflects volunteer and staff time.

A bonded pair can meet many of their social needs with each other.

A single rabbit needs more input from us to reach the same welfare outcome.

That is why the single rabbit rate is higher than the bonded pair rate.

If your rabbit is single

If your rabbit is currently single, we can still provide boarding. We will focus on calm handling, predictable routines, and the extra support they need to stay settled.
