Our Welfare Services
You want support that puts your rabbit’s wellbeing first. Our Welfare Services give you practical, calm, welfare-led help from a team with long-term rescue experience. Whether you need a hands-on welfare check, a chance to talk things through, or a friendly space to learn from other rabbit owners, you will get clear guidance rooted in good rabbit welfare.
These services focus on early intervention, good husbandry, and informed choices. If we spot signs that suggest illness, pain, or an urgent issue, we will advise you to contact your vet promptly. We can also help you understand what to ask your vet and how to plan next steps.
Welfare Check
Our Welfare Check is a welfare-led, non-invasive appointment designed to help you understand how your rabbit is doing and where you can improve care at home.
What you can expect
- A gentle physical check, focused on visible and feelable indicators such as body condition, teeth alignment indicators, coat and skin condition, eyes, ears, mobility, and signs that may suggest discomfort
- A discussion of the five welfare needs, with practical suggestions tailored to your set-up, routine, and your rabbit’s behaviour
- Dietary review, including discussion of potential changes to your rabbits’ daily diet
- Clear guidance on what looks normal, what to monitor, and what changes to prioritise first
What this is not
- This is not a veterinary consultation, diagnosis, or treatment
- We cannot prescribe medication or replace vet care
When we will recommend a vet
- If we identify signs that may indicate pain, illness, dental problems, gut issues, injury, or any urgent concern, we will advise you to contact your vet promptly
- If needed, we will help you prepare questions to ask your vet and explain what to monitor while you arrange care
Best for
- Owners who want reassurance, a baseline check, or help improving welfare, housing, diet, companionship, enrichment, and routine
