Rabbits are crepuscular. They are at their liveliest at dawn and dusk, which is why an owner who only sees them at teatime thinks they are lazy.

A rabbit that goes still when you pick it up is frightened. Prey animals freeze. That stillness gets read as contentment, and it is the single most useful thing to correct in someone else’s understanding.

Their teeth never stop growing. Chewing hay wears them down at roughly the rate they grow, which is why dental disease follows a diet built on pellets.

A flop is a compliment. When a rabbit throws itself onto its side and lies there like it has been unplugged, it has decided nothing in the room is going to eat it.

Who You Are Supporting

Beloved Rabbits is a Scottish rabbit rescue charity, registered as a SCIO (SC049128) and run by volunteers. We take rabbits in when their owners can no longer keep them, when they are found dumped, and when they turn up as strays. Every one of them is vet-checked, neutered and vaccinated before we look for a home, and we hold them for as long as it takes to find the right one rather than the first one.

Beloved Rabbits Welfare Services CIC sells this shirt on behalf of the charity. All proceeds go to Beloved Rabbits for its charitable purposes, covering veterinary bills, daily feeding and the running costs of holding a rabbit safely while it waits.
